Colada Shop is Here: Go for a Cuban, Stay for the Cocktails

The wait is over. It's opening day for Colada Shop, the new Cuban cafe from Barmini veteran Juan Coronado, partner and consultant Daniella Senior, and chef Mario Monte.

Eater has been following the restaurant from concept to opening (and there's still more to come; another location will open on 14th Street later this year in D.C.). The restaurant is serving Cuban pastries, a variety of sandwiches, coffee and coffee-based cocktails (learn more about the coffee program here and the thought behind the menu here). The space will be open all day and transition from morning to evening, with the goal of being a gathering place for diners.

Colada Shop can be found in the Cascades Overlook development in Sterling, Va., home to such restaurants as the new Ocean Blue and a location of Burton's Grill, also opening today. Take a tour of the space here. UPDATE: Here's the menu below:
