The opening for The Shaw Bijou appears to be moving closer. The restaurant today announced a November 1 opening date for the restaurant from chef Kwame Onwuachi (who recently appeared on "Top Chef").
His tasting menu-centric, multi-course restaurant will cost $185 per person (not including drinks, tax, or tip). There are just 32 seats in the restaurant, which will use a ticketing system for reservations (those will go on sale starting this Monday).
The restaurant is bound for 1544 9th St. NW. The menu will offer a mix of global dishes with wine and cocktail pairing options. They'll also have a members-only bar on the second floor (no opening date for that yet).
The upcoming restaurant, originally announced back in spring 2015, has drawn plenty of attention. Though Onwuachi has never operated a restaurant in D.C., the 26-year-old chef's resume includes time at Eleven Madison Park in New York.
