It's been a very busy week for restaurant openings — especially for traditionally-slow August. From expansions to new tiki bars to Vietnamese restaurants, the city has gained ten new places this week, and expect this list to be updated with additional openings today.

D.C. is a major seafood town, so it was about time that Eater published a guide to 13 of the city's most essential seafood destinations. Most have stood the test of time, like Hank's Oyster Bar and BlackSalt. But there are a few relative newcomers featured as well, including Brine and Whaley's.

The wait for 'Top Chef' alumn Kwame Onwuachi's Shaw restaurant is coming to a close. But visiting it won't come cheap, as the restaurant plans to charge $185 per person before tax, tip, or beverages.
