1) PENN QUARTER: They're outta here. Ping Pong Dim Sum is officially out of the D.C. market, as Borderstan first noted. OpenTable lists the restaurant as closed, and the phones have been disconnected. The Dupont Circle location of the international restaurant chain closed in January. The chain was one of the city's few upscale dim sum offerings when it first came to the market, though competition has only increasedas more and more Asian restaurants opened around town. The restaurant was located at 900 7th St. NW; no word yet on what might replace it.
2) U STREET: Dickson Wine Bar is taking a break. The restaurant and bar on U Street has closed down temporarily for some renovations. The plan is to return after Labor Day with the same menu of wines and small plates.
3) U STREET: Also gone from U Street: a location of Subway. It was at 1115 U St. NW.
