LOUDOUN COUNTY—A new restaurant is opening at the Lansdowne Resort and Spa. Coton and Rye is coming in September, and it's a new Virginia-themed tavern. They're launching a total of five new food and beverage restaurants this year at the property. Expect dishes like fried chicken and pot pie on the menu. Hopefully folks won't get it mixed up with the soon-to-open D.C. distillery, Cotton & Reed. [EaterWire]

PENN QUARTER—A note that noodle and soup shop Reren Lamen has opened its doors in Chinatown (looks like it opened earlier this summer). The restaurant, which got a review in the $20 Diner column this week, is located at 817 7th St. NW, serving up ma po tofu, lamen soup bowls (the Chinese forerunner to ramen), and even soup dumplings. SHAW— Things keep inching closer and closer for The Passenger. The bar Tweeted that it has received its certificate of occupancy for the new location. Its new home will be at 1539 7th St. NW when it opens this month. [Twitter]
