The pending closure of Carpool in Arlington appears to be getting closer. The bar, known for beer and games, could close by early to mid-September. The building that houses it has been slated for redevelopment for some time now. [ARLNOW]

Cold brew skepticism

Should Dunkin Donuts really be tackling trendy cold brew coffee? Even the company itself seems hesitant about its appeal, according to one Eater author singing the praise of the chain’s classic iced coffee. [E]

Food truck mash-up

Expect some serious collaboration between BBQ Bus and Ivy and Coney during the week of August 15. Ivy and Coney plans to serve a sandwich from the barbecue food truck throughout the week, and the truck will make a guest appearance at the bar during the week as well (BBQ Bus co-owner Che Ruddell-Tabisola tells us he is considering a bartending stint, but they’re still working out details). They’ll both work together on Friday’s Truckeroo event as well. Ivy & Coney has its own food truck connection, as owner Josh Saltzman used to operate the former PORC food truck.
