1) CLARENDON: Blumen Cafe is opening in the former CD Cellar space at 2607 Wilson Blvd. It will be a coffee shop with high-end teas as well. [PLYWOOD]

2) U STREET: When the D.C. location of Sugar Shack opens, it will have a basement bar called Nocturne. The concept is similar to the Alexandria doughnut shop which also houses speakeasy Captain Gregory’s. The bar is considering using a ticketing system for patrons that visit. [PLYWOOD]

3) U STREET: A new deli from the owners of Grand Central is coming to 715 Florida Ave. NW. It will be called Capo, and could open by next spring. [PRE-PLYWOOD]

4) PARK VIEW: Looks like things are finally starting to come along with Union Drinkery, the bar from the A&D team. New Columbia Heights says the hangout is coming soon to Georgia Ave. NW. Expect a neighborhood bar similar to A&D, and they'll serve the full menu from neighboring Small Fry at the location. [PLYWOOD]
