New Penn Quarter ramen shop Bantam King is introducing a new flavor this weekend: a spicy miso chicken ramen. UPDATE: The first 25 customers who show up for lunch tomorrow (they open at 11:30) have the chance for a free bowl.

Cat cafe mania

Ever wish that the work-from-a-coffeehouse game included some cat cuddling? Crumbs & Whiskers now has day passes ($35) in addition to its time-specific reservations, so show up with a laptop and work with cat coworkers.

Milano being Milano

Longtime star favorite Cafe Milano was living up to its reputation this week. On Wednesday night, visitors there included a secretary of state, a presidential advisor, a famous CEO, a local team owner, another local team manager, and the city’s interim police chief. Matchbox continues its massive expansion, which is also happening outside the greater D.C. area. Now open: a location in Short Pump, near Richmond.
