1) SHAW — Looks like some progress is being made for 1230 Restaurant and Lounge. Signage indicates it will be a champagne lounge. They've been posting teaser photos of dishes in the works on Facebook, too. In January, chef Malik Fall, who has worked fine dining in New York and Paris, announced plans for the space at 1230 9th St. NW. [PLYWOOD]

2) PENTAGON ROW — Expect some Italian sandwiches to arrive at 1301 S. Joyce Street in Arlington. Signage is vague though, simply calling it "A Deli" and boasting Italian food and wine.

3) SHAW — Also in Shaw, some more activity from a portion of the Chaplin's team. Two of the ramen restaurant and bar owners next will tackle a diner in the same neighborhood. Micah and Ari Wilder are opening up Shaw Shank Diner at 906 P St. NW, according to Borderstan. Think fried egg sandwiches, breakfast burritos, mac and cheese. Alcoholic drinks and outdoor drinks are also in the plans. [PRE-PLYWOOD]
