The Shutter

A few closures and potential closures to note this morning. First up, sad news that the temporary closing of U Street wine bar Dickson is permanent. A co-owner of the bar, which has been around since 2010, tells Borderstan that the business is for sale. Borderstan also notes that My Way Gourmet Deli has been evicted from its Dupont home.

Meanwhile, over in Arlington, it looks like China Garden is poised to close. ARLNOW spots a permit requesting to turn the space over into television studios. The Chinese restaurant has been a fixture of the area’s dim sum scene for many years (one of the few metro-accessible ones in the ‘burbs). The restaurant isn’t talking yet (the same building is the home of several news organizations).

Maryland residents will have to save their visits to City Perch for the evenings during the week. The newish restaurant in the Pike & Rose development is no longer serving lunch.

Food TV continues to cover the pending implosion of The Great British Bakeoff, mourning the loss of affable hosts Mel and Sue.
