One of D.C.'s top restaurant neighborhoods will soon have a Shake Shack.
The burger chain with a major cult following announced today that a Shake Shack will open at 1400 14th St. NW in Logan Circle. There's no specific timeline for the opening beyond that it will happen sometime in 2017.
Plans are for a large outdoor seating area at the location with picnic tables and greenery. The restaurant will serve the typical menu items, from cheeseburgers to crinkle fries, plus shakes and customized concretes using ingredients from local purveyors. The ceiling design for the restaurant will imitate the city's street grid, and the restaurant itself will be made from recycled materials.
Shake Shack's presence has grown significantly in the D.C. area since the first location opened in Dupont Circle. In the city, there are locations in Penn Quarter, Union Station, and Nats Park, and Tysons Corner has one in Virginia as well.
