Chez Billy’s New Identity, Plus More Intel

Mini news bites for the morning

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

The original location of Chez Billy is being reborn as Ten Tigers Parlour. Petworth News reports it will have both Victorian-era and Asian themes, with dumplings, a new chef, dim sum, and more. Expect a coffee bar and DJs, too. No official word on when it might open, though. The original Chez Billy is located at 3815 Georgia Ave. NW; Michelle Obama favorite Chez Billy Sud remains open in Georgetown. [PN]

NoMa bar Union Social has closed its doors. Washington City Paper says the owners found the location near the metro (also the bar’s theme) to be a challenge. [WCP]

Also in closings, District Cuisine notes that The Elroy is closed on H Street. The bar opened in 2013 with a futuristic theme.
