Global citizen Takeshi NIshikawa is the new chef de cuisine at Lincoln, building on a resume that already includes many high-profile D.C. restaurants.

According to an official statement from Presidential Restaurant Group, the parent company behind politically themed venues Lincoln, Teddy & The Bully Bar, and Declaration, Nishikawa is no stranger to the nation’s capital.

Originally from Japan, Nishikawa has already spent a good deal of time honing his culinary skills in several well known kitchens; locally, he’s worked at The Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner, Restaurant Eve in Alexandria, Va., Volt in Frederick, Md., and most recently at New Heights Restaurant in Woodley Park.

“His diverse experience in so many different kitchens will add an interesting new element to things,” PRG corporate executive chef Demetrio Zavala said in a release.

A graduate of the New England Culinary Institute, PRG Hospitality touts Nishikawa as being a language lover (he’s trilingual and working on a fourth) and an avid collector of wine.
