The Shutter
Bethesda Magazine reports that nearly decade-old neighborhood restaurant 8407 Kitchen Bar is closing Saturday, October 21. “We had a good two weeks for everybody to come in and say goodbye to the restaurant before we close,” general manager Constance Gabriel told the publication. According to local blog Source of the Spring, an unnamed restaurant group is interested in taking over the space. [BM, SOTS]
Developments
A tipster alerted Frozen Tropics that Atlas District grab-and-go eatery Citi Pizza is for sale on Cragislist. Per the online ad, the owner is asking $95,000 for the shop at 504 H Street NE and is “willing to sell immediately.” [FT]
Expansions
ARLnow reports that aspiring local chain Big Buns is opening a second location in Shirlington, Virginia. The homegrown restaurant, which debuted in neighboring Ballston back in 2007, specializes in gourmet burgers (beef, chicken, or vegetarian), fries (regular, sweet potato, Cajun, or parmesan-truffle), and shakes (regular or boozy).
