D.C.’s 2018 Michelin star announcements are coming out at a time of great change here in the District and the surrounding areas. Local chefs and restaurateurs are now routinely garnering attention from national media, culinary leaders from all around the country are exploring expansion opportunities within the nation’s capital, and entirely new neighborhoods (hello, the Wharf) are springing up around town.
While the DMV remains the only part of the of Michelin’s U.S.-based coverage without a three-star restaurant, the real question is: When will the Red Guide branch out and properly explore this slice of the Mid-Atlantic foodshed?
