Navy Yard standby Osteria Morini is finally ready to debut a new satellite food and drink stand parked that much closer to the Southeast waterfront. The new tandem spot was initially expected to open in August, while baseball season and summer were in full swing, but permits got in the way and things got delayed.
The better-late-than never mini bar and eatery will serve up draft beer and wine, as well as a pared-down menu of what’s available at the flagship restaurant. That includes made-to-order salads, the New York-transplant’s iconic meatballs, and simple desserts.
Stay tuned for a full menu and more details on hours of operation going forward.
It’s not the first restaurant at the Yards to move the party closer to the water; This spring Whaley’s debuted its airy and tropical Rose Garden. The neighborhood landed another drinking option when District Winery debuted this summer.
The new Morini kiosk is projected to operate from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, October 20, and from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, October 21.
