TV personality Giada De Laurentiis has closed the loop on a rumored affiliation with Horseshoe Baltimore’s waterfront casino, revealing via video that she plans to open a restaurant just north of D.C. in the coming year.
“I’m super excited to announce my first restaurant on the East Coast at the Baltimore Horseshoe Casino. It’ll open in 2018 and I can’t wait. Hope to see you all there,” the cooking show host says in a promotional clip.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the new restaurant, tentatively dubbed GDL by Giada, will be “way more casual and accessible” than the seafood tower- and rack of lamb-pushing eatery that currently bears her name at the Cromwell Hotel in Las Vegas. She is working on opening a second restaurant in Vegas, Pronto by Giada at Caesars Palace, in 2018.
Horseshoe Baltimore already lays claim to a restaurant by TV star Guy Fieri (Guy Fieri’s Baltimore Kitchen + Bar). Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is opening a high-end steak house there as well.
