New Logan Circle Sushi Bar Sticks with Hand Rolls, Plus More Intel

Opening Report

Washingtonian reports on new sushi restaurant Hando Medo (1315 14th Street NW), the first D.C. outpost from seasoned chef and Sushi Jin Next Door founder Jin K. Oh. The Japanese eatery, which features three u-shaped bars, is expected to focus on made-to-order hand rolls and bento boxes for now; omakase dinner service may follow in the future. [Washingtonian]

Further up the road, neighborhood bar Moreland’s Tavern (5501 14th Street NW) is gearing up to get the taps flowing. Bill Murray isn’t the only celebrity living it up in the DMV.

The Washington Post reports that Saturday Night Live alum turned musical producer Tina Fey was spotted having dinner October 28 at downtown steak house Mastro’s. Meanwhile, WaPo also places rapper/actor Common in Reston, Virginia October 29 having dinner at suburban seafood restaurant Passionfish.
