Food fight

A decades-old rift between members of the family that own San Francisco-based seafood restaurant Tadich Grill has jeopardized the brand’s bottom line in D.C. “What happened as a result of the press and social media, the restaurant never developed a solid local clientele, and that’s key to a restaurant,” Icon Inc. president Gerard Centioli told the Washington Post about the uphill battle the restaurant has fought in the District due to allegations of racism.

Something new

Nationwide chain Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is unveiling its latest creation, a dairy-free dark chocolate truffle, Friday, November 10, at its shop on 14th Street NW. The new flavor is made with coconut cream and cocoa.
