The new Shouk on the way over by Union Market is projected to accommodate 48 customers, including 32 at the interior dining room and an additional 16 on a sidewalk patio.

Popville gathered the latest intel from a liquor license posted for the eatery headed to the new Edison building (395 Morse Street NE) in 2018. The application lists the projected occupancy and specifies that there will be “no entertainment, performances, or dancing.”

The homegrown vegetarian restaurant, which joined the local dining scene in 2016, revealed its expansion plans earlier this summer.

A favorite among burger lovers — particularly those attempting to cut out red meat — Eater readers named Shouk fast casual restaurant of the year in 2016. Its also seen its share of action on the celebrity front: musician Moby and New Jersey Democrat Cory Booker wound up at the original Mt. Vernon Triangle location in early 2016 following a book signing at neighboring Sixth & I synagogue.
