D.C. beer lovers have another place to sip local brews with the debut of Moreland’s Tavern, the neighborhood restaurant opening Thursday, November 2 in 16th Street Heights.

The new eatery (5501 14th Street NW), a joint effort from personnel involved with area bars Boundary Stone and DC Reynolds, replaces short-lived restaurant Swampoodle. PoPville snapped pictures inside the retro-looking space November 1. Expect exposed brick walls, dangling Edison bulbs, hardwood floors, multiple bars spread out across two levels, and a spacious patio (projected to enter the equation next spring).

The tap lines at one bar feature several local producers, including 3 Stars Brewing Company, Atlas Brew Works, DC Brau Brewing Company, Rar Brewing Nanticoke Nectar, and Right Proper Brewing Company. Other drafts include Austin Eastciders and Miller Lite.

No word yet on what the kitchen plans to get up to, but one early adopter posted on Facebook about enjoying “simply delicious food” and the ambiance. “Perfect for family dinners (loved the kids menu inside an actual children's book), date night or meeting up with friends,” Bridget Hanes shared via social media.

Status: Scheduled to open at 4 p.m. 5501 14th Street NW; website.
