Calorie counters in the Atlas District can look forward to more healthy dining options in 2018 with the arrival of Clean Eatz, an incoming chain that specializes in custom protein bowls, smoothies, and weekly meal plans.

The growing company will open its first area location “soon,” promises new signage up at 816 H Street NE. Clean Eatz will take the first-floor space formerly occupied by colorful burger bar Mythology, which has since relocated to a smaller second-level space.

The location has evolved into an ascending maze of bars over the past few months: the Dark Side Bar, a pop-up to celebrate the new Star Wars: The Last Jedi film, runs through mid-January, while the third-floor space is now home to newcomer Dirty Water sports bar.

Clean Eatz, which has not yet announced an opening date, is in the midst of slathering the space with bright orange and green paint — its brand’s colors. Founded in Wilmington, N.C. in 2011, the company is currently on an expansion kick throughout the Southeast and beyond.

Its menu ranges from a grilled goat cheese sandwich to wraps and barbecue chicken flatbreads. Snacks include “Good for You” Nachos with sweet potato chips, shredded beef, guacamole, salsa, peppers, and onions. A “Makin’ Muscle” corner includes the Arnold, featuring shredded beef, brown rice, peppers, mushrooms, lettuce, cheese and “CE Buffalo” sauce (approximately 720 calories).
