Georgetown subterranean beer-and-pizza bar Birreria Paradiso is closed and (technically) gone for good. Fans need not lament, though — the basement-level space is planning to reopen in the middle of next month as a playful new spot: Paradiso Game Room.
The downstairs sister bar to Pizzeria Paradiso, at 3282 M Street NW, is turning into an adult funland, complete with arcade games like pinball, shuffleboard and Skee-Ball among others. Paradiso Game Room is joining an already stellar list of DC bars with games as special extras.
The interior and name aren’t the only things getting a major update — the beer menu will be “more streamlined” notes a rep for the restaurant, and there will be a small number of limited drafts and canned beers.
The full pizza menu from upstairs will be available, too, so gorging on a mushroom-and-onion-heavy Bosco pizza while trying to land a Skee-Ball into the 100-point hole will soon be a dreamy reality.
