Expansions
Restaurateur Robert Wiedmaier, who recently relinquished control of Brabo in Old Town Alexandria to Kimpton, is already moving on to his next hotel project. Washington City Paper reports that Wiedmaier wants to celebrate the bounty of the sea at Siren, a new restaurant tied to upscale upstart The Darcy in Logan Circle. He’s already reeled in seasoned chef John Critchley, most recently at Brine in Mosaic District, to help get things shipshape in time for a spring opening. [WCP]
Pop-Up Patrol
Frozen Tropics got intel on a po’boy pop up happening Sunday from noon to 6 pm. at Toki Underground. “Sundays are for decadence” is the brainchild of Adam Zerhouni, a vet of Fox Den’s Gastropub in Annapolis who appears to be interested in sharing “creative takes on a Southern standard.” [FT]
Coming Attractions
World of Beer is heading to Bethesda. The chain tavern, which carries hundreds of craft and commercial brews, has designs on a new location at 7200 Wisconsin Avenue. [Bethesda]
