Brunch Wire

Mike Friedman, chef and co-owner of All-Purpose Pizzeria, has cooked up a new brunch line-up scheduled to debut on Sunday, April 9. Menu additions include eggs fra diavolo (eggs with calabrian chiles, polenta, feta and basil); an egg and cheese sandwich with fried mortadella, provolone and arugula; and breakfast pies featuring bacon, egg and cheese (the Cipriani), as well as a croque madame-style marriage of prosciutto, melted gruyere and bechamel sauce (the Balthazar). Brunch service will be available from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sundays. The Shaw restaurant is now closed for lunch on Tuesdays.

Novelty Foods

Northern Virginians can now avail themselves of Bowlmor AMF’s “Go Crazy” menu at the recently renovated Bowlero Centreville (13814 Lee Highway, Centreville, Va). The spruced up bowling facility features a sports bar that deals in old school beverages (think: mai tais, Moscow mules and fishbowl cocktails) and party foods — including a 5-pound, 14-inches around physical challenge dubbed the Behemoth Burger. Bowlero is hosting a grand opening party Saturday, April 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Meals on Wheels

The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck is scheduled to do its thing in Bethesda, Md., and Arlington, Va., early next month. The moving billboard is expected to dispense 3-piece cookie sets and 4-packs of mini cakes at 4950 Elm Street (along Bethesda Row) on Saturday, April 1 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and at 1101 S. Joyce Street (along Pentagon Row) on Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
