Lincoln’s Bar-B-Que, the latest addition to The Restaurant Group’s wide-ranging portfolio, debuted earlier this month with a slate of slow-cooked offerings for Silver Spring, Maryland.
The 315-seat restaurant was completely redesigned over the winter, transforming from its former life as Nuevo Latino-themed A.G. Kitchen into a space that conjures everyday Americana.
The vast meat selection includes pulled pork, chopped brisket, pulled chicken, hot links, ribs, burnt ends, smoked turkey breast, spiced chicken wings, and Southern fried chicken. Proteins are prepped with distinct dry rubs, and the house-made sauces are kept table side for easy customization.
Read on to hear what the customers are saying, just a few weeks in.
The Happy Ending News: Yelper Alex S. “recommends the apple cobbler for dessert which was a steal at $3.” Jennifer L. got the same and thinks it’s “not an accident that all the appetizers, sides, and desserts are designed to pair well with the BBQ.” Yelper Jess G. went with the super crazy cookies and cream milkshake, which “was quite impressive — one of those milkshakes with all kinds of stuff on top. I can't wait to try the super crazy chocolate one next time!” [Yelp]
The Disappointing News: Yelper Jeannette R. thought the fried pickles are “super salty” and the food was “very disappointing. Mom ordered brisket, very fatty, not smoked but oven baked. We had to send it back and the one they replaced was not much better.” Yelper Tina N. was “SO VERY DISAPPOINTED” with the mac and cheese: “I couldn't taste ANY hint of cheese and the bacon put in there was mostly fat with a couple of chunks of actual meat.” [Yelp]
And Not Disappointing News: Facebook user Bakisa Deja says “you won’t be disappointed” and got the two-meat combo of ribs and fried chicken with potato salad, collard greens, and corn bread for sides. “Good atmosphere, great customer service, and the best part is the food!” Facebooker Stephanie Sutton thinks “the Alabama White barbecue sauce is killer. The price is very reasonable for good smoked barbecue.” [Facebook]
The TBD News: Yelper Kobra S. “didn't expect quick service” because it’s so new, but “hopefully within a month or two everything will run smoothly. Def a great place for BBQ and beers.” [Yelp]
The Lunch Deal Steal News: Yelper Ant S. thought it was a “great place for lunch” and “you can’t beat” the one meat and two sides lunch special for $11, adding, “The food was great I like the BBQ turkey breast flavor and they also have a good variety of BBQ sauces.” Overall, Alex S. was “impressed” by the $11 lunch special, getting the brisket with mac and cheese and corn bread and calling it “a sized portion of delicious brisket (a little on the fattier side but very rich).” [Yelp]
