Toki Underground (1234 H Street NE) is commemorating six years of soup slinging in the Atlas District by opening up Sunday, April 2 for an anniversary brunch.
The four-course, prix fixe meal ($35) includes choice of: soup (corn or white miso), bao buns (pork belly and scrambled egg, or enoki mushroom and scrambled egg), sweet-and-sour chicken or tofu, and dessert (Calpico rice pudding or melon-vanilla custard).
“No Ramen!” management warns on the website.
A la carte beverage offerings include fresh brewed cups of joe from Ceremony Coffee Roasters ($4), seasonally inspired cherry blossom-jasmine iced tea ($4), imported beers ($6-$12.50 a pop), and house cocktails ($8) ranging from kimchi- and Marmite-spiked Bloody Marys to the eponymous Toki Monster.
Brunch will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The restaurant is accepting reservations for the special event, but also mapped out plans to accommodate walk-in customers (space permitting).
