As part of the festivities, the homegrown chain of fast-casual fusion tacos is offering a free meal (up to $9) to the first 100 customers.
Low Country-themed Hen Quarter is replacing it’s Tex-Mex-y sibling, Austin Grill, at 750 E Street NW. Penn Quarter Living reports that the projected opening could happen within the next week. [PQL]
Jamie Rutherford, an alum of The Dabney and Tail Up Goat, is now in charge of the kitchen at Petworth Citizen — and she’s all about showcasing the spoils of the earth. East MoCo writer Robert Dyer reports that construction has a way to go, but speculates that the place should do well — what with it adjacent to The Fillmore. “If they stay open late enough, they could make a killing on folks leaving concerts next door,” Dyer predicts.
