Creative Coalition Pregaming for Nerd Prom at Flavio, Plus More Intel

President Donald Trump’s disinterest in attending the annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner hasn’t dampened Tinseltown’s desire to have its voice heard here in the nation’s capital. Members of The Creative Coalition — including TCC president Tim Daly (Madam Secretary), and supporters Matt Walsh (Veep), Alyssa MIlano (Mistresses) and Denis O’Hare (American Horror Story) — are expected to gather Friday, April 28 at Flavio Restaurant in Georgetown for a fundraising gala tagged the #RightToBearArts.

A-List Communications’ “Supper Suite” program has been tasked with creating a 3-course menu for the evening that will be paired with signature margaritas, wines and Blue Moon Belgian White — but not before the attendees do the obligatory red carpet arrival at 8 p.m.

UPDATE: An earlier version of this story misidentified who would be handling the dining portion of the evening due to erroneous information provided by event organizers.

Trump Wire

Just because they’re skipping Nerd Prom next weekend doesn’t mean administration aides are missing any meals. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin was spotted having dinner at the original Rasika (633 D Street NW) on April 18; a tipster said the former Goldman Sachs exec and hedge fund manager met for an hour and change with a formally dressed gentleman. (Hammering out a deal on tax reform, no doubt.)

Trump senior adviser Jared Kushner and White House chief of staff Reince Priebus stayed closer to home Thursday night, breaking bread at the same (and only) place the boss does: BLT Prime inside Trump International Hotel.

Rise and Dine

The Chickery is introducing breakfast options — including menu items stacked on Mason Dixie Biscuit Co. biscuits — on Monday, May 1. The Dupont Circle restaurant (1300 Connecticut Avenue NW) plans to greet early risers with fruit and granola parfaits ($3.75), egg and cheese sandwiches ($4.50), chicken and waffles ($7), and more.

Breakfast meal offerings, which include hash browns or fruit cups and choice of coffee or juice, will be anchored by chicken biscuits ($9.50), egg and cheese biscuits ($9.50), or chicken and waffles ($12). The breakfast items are scheduled to be available from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday through Friday.
