Each Peach Market co-founders Emily Friedberg and Jeanlouise Conaway plan to build on their retail operation by opening a standalone cafe in Mount Pleasant this summer. Per Freidberg, Pear Plum Cafe will likely be open seven days a week and will feature food — including a new slate of breakfast selections — developed by chef Conaway.
“We will build and expand on our Each Peach style with fresh simple home-made fare that highlights seasonal ingredients. We will also continue to have a fairly robust coffee program possibly featuring rotating local roasters,” she tells Eater. The duo are fundraising for this project by selling VIP gift cards (purchases are sweetened by bonus credits of up to 30 percent) good for use at either establishment.
C’Mon Get Happy
Kyirisan is now offering happy hour from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The bar-only deals include: select $3 drinks (shochu, Sapporo), half-price creme fraiche wings ($5.50 per order), plus $6 wines on tap and house cocktails (Lucky #3; Natto Umami’s Lemonade; OMG! Work was just so crazy this week, I NEED a cocktail).
Funny Games
Following an afternoon discussion about food policy at Republic Restoratives, Top Chef judge Tom Colicchio and Travel Channel host Andrew Zimmern decided to unwind by playing guessing games with fans on social media.
The duo got the ball rolling by tweeting out mirror images of what they were about to devour.
