SHAW—Dolci Gelati’s guacamole gelato (say that five times fast) hits the Shaw and Takoma Park, Md., locations in time for Cinco de Mayo on Friday. The cool, whipped treat is packed with tons of avocados, cilantro, and yes, even onions. Check out this video of the crazy (but delicious) concoction being made.

DOWNTOWN—Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab has created a special burger this month. Inspired by the flavors and culture of Miami — home to the original Joe's Stone Crab — executive chef Chris Morvis’s Cuban Burger ($18.95) features an eight-ounce patty slathered with Cuban sauce, featuring hints of paprika, tomato, cumin, and garlic.

DOWNTOWN—Celeb chef Demetrio Zavala wants to chop out cancer via a May 13 fundraiser, in which he’ll host a cooking class at Lincoln. Tickets are priced at $100 per person with all proceeds flowing through to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
