DOWNTOWN—Starting June 2, Ocean Prime guests can slurp $1 oysters in the lounge all day on Fridays through Labor Day. In addition, the seafood restaurant will open up its lounge an hour early (starting at 4 p.m.) on Saturdays and Sundays. There are also new $20 flights of Rosé.
DUPONT CIRCLE—Red Apron Burger Bar is adding brunch this weekend from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. One star: chef Nate Anda’s new pancake burger, featuring either Virginia-raised Angus beef or a breakfast sausage patty, topped with white American cheese and a fried egg, all sandwiched between two pancakes slathered in maple butter.
MULTIPLE LOCATIONS—Fast-food giant McDonald’s just revealed how it’s helping celebrate Capital Pride weekend. From June 9 to June 11 at area locations, large fries will come served in rainbow packaging:
STERLING—Northern Virginians get a new fast-casual option on Friday: Choolaah Indian BBQ, the Cleveland-based chain that planted roots in Fairfax earlier this year, is scheduled to open its second area location on June 2 at 21426 Epicerie Plaza.
UNION MARKET—Plant-based restaurant Shouk just announced a second locale scheduled to debut in early 2018 in The Edison at Union Market District. Eater’s Fast Casual Restaurant of the Year in 2016 was founded by Ran Nussbacher. Executive chef Dennis Friedman’s specialties include the Shouk burger and a no-egg breakfast pita.
