Never-dull Drink Company is moving from spring right to winter this summer, transforming its trio of bars in Shaw — Eat the Rich, Mockingbird Hill, and Southern Efficiency — into a Game of Thrones fantasyland tied to the return of the bloody, brooding, incest-laden cable show.
The local watering holes, which most recently drew impossibly long lines as the Cherry Blossom Bar and prior to that spread holiday cheer as Miracle on Seventh Street, are scheduled to recreate iconic places from the mythical realm created by author George R.R. Martin from June 21 through August 27. Key contributions include an iron throne, items representing the warring factions on the show, dragon sculptures, and plaster casts of Drink Company employees displayed in a hall of faces.
The cocktail list (all drinks are $13 to $15) has fun with various aspects of the award-winning series, adopting catch phrases as drink names — “What Is Dead May Never Die” promises local gin, sherry, celery shrub, cane sugar, and sparkling water — as well as presumably catering to the particular tastes of the main characters.

“The Imps Delight,” featuring not one, not two, but four spirits, seems perfectly suited for resident drunkard Tyrion Lannister.

The bars will also feature Bend the Knee, the official GoT beer created by Ommegang Brewery.
Game of Thrones Pub is scheduled to operate from 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Mondays through Thursdays, from 5 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
The seventh and penultimate season of the widely watched HBO show starts on Sunday, July 16.
