Three years after breaking into the D.C. market, bowling alley-meets-Italian-style restaurant Pinstripes is opening a second entertainment megaplex in neighboring North Bethesda next month.
The Midwestern-based brand, with eight locations nationwide, is scheduled to debut in the Pike & Rose development on Saturday, August 5. The two-story space will really pack it in: at 37,000 square feet, there’s 14 bowling lanes, 10 indoor and outdoor bocce courts, a bistro with Italian/American fare (think: gourmet pizzas, sandwiches, and pasta dishes) and a wine cellar.
Pinstripes is expected to function seven days a week and will serve lunch and dinner. Events will be a big part of the operation; the company says it can accommodate parties of 20 to all the way up to 600. The other local spot is in D.C. at Georgetown Park, which opened in 2014.
The D.C. area is attracting large-scale entertainment venues as of late. Competitor Punch Bowl Social plans to put down roots in Ballston next year, while food crazy Bowlero recently opened a branch in Centreville.
