Virginia wine for dessert
Starting on Sunday, July 23 through Monday, July 31, Black Squirrel Dunn Loring’s playing around with ice cream and wine pairings. Chef Thomas Crenshaw is serving his housemade ice creams (in flavors like smoked white chocolate, peach cobbler, and salted caramel and applewood-smoked bacon) with glasses of Virginia port and dessert wines. This is even available as a flight.

Taco truck gets a new home
It’s a happy ending for Arlington food truck Tortas y Tacos La Chiquita, reports the Washington City Paper. The truck shuttered in May due to development, but now it has its own brick-and-mortar storefront on Columbia Pike — with new menu options including pork skin tacos and elote. [WCP]
