Mediterranean-themed meal-maker Roti keeps growing locally, adding a new store July 28 in neighboring Pentagon City. The same custom salads, rice dishes, and wraps found at other area locations — including two other Northern Virginia outposts (Rosslyn, Tysons Corner) — are now available to those rushing to the airport or hitting the mall. The restaurant is scheduled to function from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. Status: Opening at 11 a.m. 1211 S. Fern Street, Arlington, Va.; website

Mystery on H Street
Frozen Tropics reports on new activity in the former Vendetta space (1212 H Street NE). The one-time Italian eatery/bocce court has apparently been replaced by new restaurant Kyss Kyss — a new arrival with candy jars on display and a desire to give away cupcakes. [FT]

A temporary move upstairs will not disrupt venerable bar/discussion den Off the Record from lampooning world leaders. The Hay-Adams hot spot is adding four caricatures to its collection of politically-themed drink coasters: Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, German chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian president Vladimir Putin, and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
