Local beer maker Heritage Brewing Co. is getting half a million dollars from state and local officials to speed a growth effort that will relocate the beverage producer into a new 35,000-square-foot facility.
Washington Business Journal reports that Heritage, which recently opened a combination brewpub and coffee roastery in Arlington, is now the beneficiary of a $250,000 grant approved by Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, plus matching funds from the city of Manassas. The cash infusion will supplement the $8.9 million Heritage is expected to invest in joining new mixed-use development The Landing at Cannon Branch. The planned community is projected to host hotels, offices, retail shops, and 270 residential properties.
“The new headquarters will give us an increase in production space, a brewpub, and the ability to expand our philanthropic efforts,” Heritage wrote on social media.
Per WBJ, construction of the combination brewery and coffee roasting operation is scheduled to begin by the end of the year.
