Shaw’s anticipated Sugar Shack Donuts and Coffee will open this month, and booze is going to be part of the equation.
According to a release, there’s going to be “an intimate craft-cocktail bar” tucked inside. Details are slim, but the donut brand revealed that chef Brandon McDermott will be behind the wheel, introducing a Loaded Frappe.
There’s incentive to be among the first in line for the 6 a.m. grand opening on Friday, Aug. 18: the first 50 customers will get a free donut a month for a year. Expect other promos to run through Aug. 20.
The growing East Coast chain, with local outlets in Arlington and Alexandria, will have a series of soft opening dates leading up to Aug. 18; check dates and hours on its social media pages.
New at the Shaw location is a night program, dubbed Donuts After Dark, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with cocktail- and beer-inspired donuts called Apple Cider, Right Proper, and Stout-Glazed Filled.
Other flavors include maple bacon, Chai tea, banana pudding, and mimosa, with toppings ranging from peanut butter cups to cereal.
