Washington City Paper reports that the new bar hospitality vets John Solomon and Tony Tomelden are installing by the White House won’t serve food, but does plan to have 10 tap lines from which to draw prosecco, cocktails, and local beers. "What I see it as is bringing the neighborhood bar aesthetic back downtown," is how Solomon describes his vision for Union Trust. [WCP]

Washington Business Journal reports that recent arrival Blue Bottle Coffee plans to open a fourth D.C. store in Logan Circle. The California-based chain — and now Nestle property — opened its first location here in Georgetown and previously mapped out plans to place others in the massive Wharf complex and near Union Market.
