Washington City Paper reports that the new bar hospitality vets John Solomon and Tony Tomelden are installing by the White House won’t serve food, but does plan to have 10 tap lines from which to draw prosecco, cocktails, and local beers. "What I see it as is bringing the neighborhood bar aesthetic back downtown," is how Solomon describes his vision for Union Trust. [WCP]

Expansions

Washington Business Journal reports that recent arrival Blue Bottle Coffee plans to open a fourth D.C. store in Logan Circle. The California-based chain — and now Nestle property — opened its first location here in Georgetown and previously mapped out plans to place others in the massive Wharf complex and near Union Market. ARLnow reports that a new Indian-Pakistani-Bangladeshi restaurant appears to be nearing completion by Virginia Square. Employees at Naan Kabob, which is replacing a Peruvian chicken spot, suggest the kabob and curry operation should open “soon.” [ARLnow]

Pretzel Bakery director of operations Alan Chargin says the Capitol Hill eatery makes an everything pretzel and has created a breakfast slider featuring bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiched between everything pretzel rolls.
