Homegrown bakery Bread & Water Company is opening its second brick-and-mortar shop at a kiosk inside Pentagon Row, placing a new cafe in the space formerly occupied by Capital Teas.
Arlnow reports that the nearly seven-year-old operation, which currently sells assorted baked goods, specialty sandwiches — some of which are also carried by Anchor, the upscale “convenience store” at the Wharf — soups, and more out of its Alexandria shop as well as at various farmers markets, has already put up signage at the developing outpost (1201 S. Joyce Street, Arlington, Va.).
Bread & Water’s current offerings include: fresh breads (baguettes, sourdough boule, marble rye), pastries (assorted muffins, walnut sticky buns, Belgian chocolate pound cakes), salads (field greens with seasonal fruit; roasted beets with feta; farro with mixed vegetables), and sandwiches (garlic-rubbed pork barbecue; roasted chicken salad with onion jam; wagyu steak and cheese with provolone and cheddar).
No opening date has been set. Eater will continue tracking the new arrival.
