Or head to All Set in Silver Spring, Maryland (8630 Fenton Street) for five new seasonal cocktails including Irish and Mexican coffees.

DENVER—There was a Blagden Alley versus South Beach bartender battle on January 22 at Occidental in Denver. A team representing D.C.’s award-winning Columbia Room — including Suzy Critchlow, JP Fetherston, and Paul Taylor — took on drink masters from Miami Beach’s Sweet Liberty. D.C. lost but “still had a good time,” reports a rep.

H STREET—Swiss-themed Stable is introducing a weekend bake shop starting Saturday, February 3, featuring wurzel bread, breakfast braids, sugar-dusted donuts, and more for sale. Executive chef David Fritsche’s daily wares ($2.50 to $9) will be sold by the loaf from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m on Saturdays and Sundays before weekend brunch service begins.

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS—NoVa sweets maker Buzz Bakeshop handed out 2,018 free “Pink Ladies” cupcakes to Women’s March participants this weekend, and the tip jar tally is in: $3,000 will be donated to She Should Run to support future female political leaders.

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS—Head to any Zoe’s Kitchen location to nab a free slice of its Ya-Ya’s chocolate cake with any $15 purchase. Valid in-store and online on Saturday, January 27.

PETWORTH—In “the customer is not always right” news, budding local chain Qualia Coffee is on the hunt for an offender who blatantly spat water into a barista’s face this week (watch video here). The neighborhood coffee shop is working with the police to track down the assailant, who has apparently been pissing off employees for a while now.
