Black Friday, the annual kickoff to the holiday shopping season, isn’t just limited to retail. Restaurants are also in on the action, helping stressed buyers fuel up, catch a buzz, or do their shopping on-site with gift cards and deals on to-go food.

America Eats Tavern

3139 M Street NW

On Black Friday, the José Andrés eatery will open an hour early at 10 a.m. with doughnuts ($6) and boozy hot chocolate featuring Corsair Triple Smoke Whiskey ($10). Thanksgiving specials, like smoked turkey with gravy, cranberry sauce, and green bean casserole, will stick on “social hour” pricing all day. On Thanksgiving Day, Andrés will be with his World Central Kitchen team to feed those affected by the devastating California wildfires.

Barcelona

Multiple locations

On Friday, Barcelona Wine Bar (on 14th Street NW and in Reston) will be open for brunch, while Barcelona Cathedral Heights will open at noon with its dinner menu and a community pig roast.

Charlie Palmer Steak

101 Constitution Avenue NW

District Winery

Can’t make it to Navy Yard to pick up booze at D.C.’s first winery? Its online retail store is now live, selling wines by the bottle, wine bundles, gift cards and more. Take 25 percent off all online purchases starting Black Friday through Cyber Monday. Shipping is available to D.C., Virginia, Florida and Minnesota only. More states, including Maryland, are coming soon.

Gravitas

1401 Okie Street NE

To celebrate the season of the Nutcracker, a new pre-theater experience crafted by chef Matt Baker includes a three-course menu for guests who dine at the months-old eatery before 7 p.m. (available Tuesdays to Fridays).

Hank’s Oyster, Pasta, and Cocktail Bars

Multiple locations

From Friday, November 23, to Sunday, November 25, the homegrown oyster chain will dish out a bonus $20 gift card for every $100 gift card sold (online or on-site).

Oceanaire

1201 F Street NW

The downtown seafood haunt will be offering $1 dollar oysters from open to close at the bar on Black Friday.

Peet’s Coffee

The expansion-minded coffee shop, which just announced a new lease at the Shops at Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase, wants coffee fans to stay in their PJs this holiday season. Get 15 percent off online purchases of coffee, tea, gear, and gifts with the shopping code BESTWEEKEVER.

Tupelo Honey

1616 N Troy St, Arlington, Virginia

The Arlington family-friendly eatery is offering $3 bloody marys all day on Friday, November 23. Those hosting the in-laws last-minute are in luck: A new family-style ordering model lets party planners pick up family-sized entrees, sides, and biscuits.

Upper West Side Café

2233 M Street NW

The sports-centric West End cafe will sling its Saturday and Sunday-only brunch on Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. That includes a smoked salmon tartine with white wine-thyme sauce and French toast with Nutella, marscarpone, and strawberry compote.
