Homegrown chain Sweetgreen is unveiling its larger spot in Logan Circle today. The build-your-own meal maker started out at 1471 P Street NW but has now migrated next door into the roomier location. D.C. area alumni of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, are hosting a fundraiser for the victims of the recent school shooting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, at Tony & Joe’s (3000 K Street NW). D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser and Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., are scheduled to attend. Organizers are asking for suggested donations of $20 to help reach their goal of raising $5,000.

Bethesda Magazine reports that local restaurateurs Alonso and Alvaro Roche have opened Caribbean-themed Tacoarepa at 4905 Fairmont Avenue. The brothers, who also own the adjoining 202 Donuts shop, plan to unite the sibling establishments by planting new drinking venture Frida Beer Garden between the two.

Popville reports that Northern Virginia restaurant Arosto Pizza is looking to become a chain by opening a second location in Chinatown. The homegrown pizzeria is replacing now-defunct conveyor belt sushi spot Sushi Go Round.
