Reopening report

Restaurateur Robert Wiedmaier has repaired the recent damage to his long standing restaurant, Marcel’s, and is back serving multi-course Belgian-French meals. Expanded prix fixe offerings include a three-course pre-theater menu ($85), four-course vegetarian menu ($85), three-course a la carte menu ($115) and seven-course chef’s tasting menu ($165).

Chef shuffles

Evan Snyder is now the executive chef at New Zealand-themed Arlington eatery, Cassatt’s Cafe. An alum of high profile establishments including Marcel’s and Volt in Frederick, Maryland, Snyder is introducing his new menu Tuesday, February 6 — a lineup that includes poppyseed spoonbread with caviar; basil cavatelli with lamb ragu; octopus shawarma with burnt eggplant, and more.

Eater tracking

Popville’s got pictures of the menu at Bandit Taco, a new eatery still taking shape just below U Street NW (1946 New Hampshire Avenue NW). Expect custom tacos, bowls, burritos, and quesadillas.

Fed up

Arlnow reports that owners of 8-year-old Bada Bing food truck are relocating to New York because working here has become too much of a hassle. “The restaurants and restaurant lobby has a huge stranglehold on the govt and are making it very difficult for trucks to operate,” team Bada Bing writes in a farewell note shared via social media.
