Global chain GRK Fresh Greek is building on its expansion into D.C. by opening a third location Thursday, March 29 in Penn Quarter featuring new menu options.
Its other two other area locations — planted in Foggy Bottom (2121 H Street NW) and downtown (1140 19th Street NW) — both debuted within the past year. The growing company plans to celebrate the arrival of the fast-casual shop at 1000 F Street NW by giving away free meat-filled pitas or specialty plates from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
New menu items this time around include meatball, chicken, or mushroom kebabs wrapped in pitas or served on a plate, as well as a bowl of orzo with roasted tomato sauce and feta. Additional offerings include Greek yogurt with rose petal jelly, spanakopita, baklava, and imported Greek sodas.
The company has four locations in New York City, where the first restaurant opened in 2012, as well as outposts in Dubai and Qatar. No more D.C. locations are in the works at the moment, the company tells Eater.
Status: Projected to open at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 29. 1000 F St NW; website.
