Local restaurant Declaration isn’t just expanding its presence in D.C. by opening in Navy Yard, it’s also broadening its menu by introducing more all-day dining options including charcuterie, sandwiches, and gourmet pizzas.
Declaration’s second, larger location (1237 First Street SE) is currently scheduled to debut on Thursday, April 5. The sibling to the flagship restaurant in Shaw features many new menu items projected to be served throughout the day.
Lunch diners can expect to find assorted crostinis ($7 to $10) topped with everything from duck to avocado to tuna; build-your-own charcuterie boards ($18 to $24) featuring nearly a dozen specialty meats and cheeses; new and existing appetizers ($4 to $15) ranging from chicken wings and mac and cheese to beef carpaccio and fried calamari; expanded sandwich offerings ($12 to $15) including a traditional muffuletta; as well as entrees ($15 to $19) including pastas and steak frites.
Declaration has also upgraded its dinner menu, folding in the aforementioned charcuterie and appetizers while also adding in a daily fish and chips plate ($17) along with two new pizzas — the spinach, ricotta, and nutmeg-topped Matthew Thornton ($17.76), and the eggplant, ricotta, tomato-spiked John Witherspoon ($17.76).
