NYC import the Wing, a network of co-working and community spaces exclusively for women, will offer its members a new eating and drinking option in Georgetown focused on showcasing local flavors.
The sleek and modern 10,000-square-foot space (1056 Thomas Jefferson Street NW), currently projected to open on Thursday, April 12, includes a cafe and bar called The Perch. There’s also showers, a gym, meeting rooms, phone booths, an all-female art gallery, gym, bleacher seating for events, and a library.
Specialty cocktails sport D.C.-centric names, like “It Goes Down in the DMV” and “Notorious RBG” after Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Both of the aforementioned drinks are fueled by Civic Vodka from local producer Republic Restoratives.
Culinary director Dani Dillon has created a menu that includes sandwiches (dubbed “‘witches”) and bowls ($14) exclusive to the D.C. location. Featured offerings include The Mumbo with jerk-roasted chicken, wild rice, garlicky spinach, roasted sweet potato, and Capital City’s sweet hot mambo sauce. Breakfast options are aplenty, with Egg In a Nest ($10) including Colada Shop’s Cuban hand pie, egg, and hot sauce. There’s also toasts, bagels, and salads.
Other goods from businesses backed by women appear throughout the menu, with breads from A Baked Joint and dairy products from Vaughan Cheeses.
