Momofuku’s New Patio Will Serve Alcoholic Slushies and Seafood By the Pound

The menu at David Chang’s DC outpost continues to evolve

Momofuku

CityCenterDC’s newest patio sounds like a party waiting to happen: Momofuku CCDC is launching a new outdoor dining space with a seafood pop-up every Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant’s exclusive patio menu features seafood by the pound, towers of Natty Boh, and alcoholic slushies.

Momofuku chef/founder and Ugly Delicious host David Chang will be on hand for the patio’s opening on Sunday, April 29 from 1 to 4 p.m., where he will hang out with Momofuku CCDC’s new executive chef Tae Strain.

Strain’s patio menu includes crawfish, mussels, clams, and shrimp by the pound served up with a choice of four sauces. Then there are sides like bing bread, cheddar crackers, and kimchi potato salad for sides. The drink menu includes a 100-ounce Natty Boh Tower for $18, and $12 alcoholic slushies: Tart Cherry Chili with soju, lemon, togarashi and $12 Blue Razzberry made of red wine, tequila, and cassis. See the whole menu here.

At the launch party, find $1 Natty Boh drafts, Natty Beer Towers, buckets of Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin, and those alcoholic slushies. Limited reservations are available for parties of six to eight guests by emailing dcevents@momofuku.com, otherwise seating is first-come, first-served.

The patio goes along Momofuku CCDC’s recent menu overhaul: Chang gave Strain permission to “destroy” the old menu, which meant straying away from ramen and bao buns. Maybe that’s where the patio’s sure-to-be crowdpleasers like peel-and-eat shrimp and kimchi potato salad come in.
