Expansions
Regional chain Wawa is continuing its march across the District, signing a lease for a 7,000-square-foot spot in Tenleytown. Washington Business Journal reports that the “more neighborhood-centric” location, which follows the downtown shop which debuted late last year and the 24/7 Columbia Heights outpost replacing the flagship Pete’s New Haven pizza, is projected to open by early 2019.

Collaborations
Coffee giant Starbucks is selling Dog Tag Bakery’s dark chocolate-potato chip brownie ($3.95) at over 8,000 stores nationwide from Tuesday, May 1 through Monday, June 4. The homegrown bakery champions veterans’ issues, so it’s a natural fit for military appreciation month.
Caffeine nation
Bethesda Magazine reports that local ice cream maker Moorenko’s is now selling cannabis-spiked coffee at its Silver Spring cafe. A cup of Flower Power Coffee, a Costa Rican blend infused with cannabidiol — a purported stress-reliever that doesn’t intoxicate users like THC does — sells for $5.95.
Coming attractions
Arlnow reports that Asian food truck Kovi Kitchen plans to its first brick-and-mortar location at 2921 S. Glebe Road. The aspiring restaurant currently sells Korean tacos and banh mi sandwiches.
