Shaw’s whimsical cocktail bar Morris debuted in the dead of winter. And now its seasonal, street-facing patio is up and running with a bunch of icy cocktails that will change daily.

The new al fresco drinking destination, dubbed Fix bar, debuts on Tuesday, May 15. The name is an ode to “fix drinks” — aka boozy snow cones that were all the rage in the 19th century. The sour cocktails are served over crushed ice and feature a base spirit, citric acid, and sweeteners ranging from sugar and honey to hard liquor.

Along with the daily rotating menu of five fix drinks ($12), there’s canned rosé from House Wine as well as local beers ($8 apiece) drawn from homegrown producers including 3 Stars Brewing Company, Anxo Cidery, Atlas Brew Works, DC Brau Brewing Company, and Right Proper Brewing Company.

Fix bar is projected to operate from 6 p.m. to midnight, Tuesday through Thursday and on Sundays, and from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., Friday and Saturday. The dog-friendly space can seat up to 60 customers, and is available on a first come, first served basis.
